Thanks be to God, my A-HA moment

I have a morning ritual of meditating then listening to a podcast or interview in order to get inspired by someone that I think is interesting.

This morning I had an A-HA moment and I want to share it with you.

I found this interview with  @marieforleo and Marianne Williamson. Marianne has just released a new book called “The Law of Divine Compensation:  On Work, Money and Miracles”.

Much of the interview resonated with me but especially this quote:

“Of course things might have gone roughly in the past, but the past is over and cannot touch you unless you hold on to it. Right now, in this moment, the universe is responding not to your past but to the truth of who you are, always were, and always will be.”
― Marianne WilliamsonThe Law of Divine Compensation: On Work, Money, and Miracles

This quote resonated with me because I realized today (and finally put words to it) that I have left God out of my “public” life for far too long. Since moving back to Sweden in 2011, to be exact.

I speak to God (quietly, in my mind) all day long but publicly I do not speak of Him.

I haven’t shared that side of me because MY PERCEPTION has been that others in Sweden don’t care about God. They think God is attached to church and the church is “bad”.  Its as though I can put a time stamp on leaving Him and hiding Him in a closet like an old toy that no one wants to have around. RUDE and unfair.

To God and to ME.

I have publicly turned my back on God because I wanted to make others comfortable… when in fact what has happened is that I have become UNcomfortable. This has not served me well.

The PERFECTIONIST in RECOVERY in me feels that I have to fix, manage and control all facets of my life when in fact – I need to say this out loud to you- I can not. And thankfully, I do not have to.

Today I choose to open my heart PUBLICLY back to God.

We all have a choice of what we think about. I choose to see good, beautiful, loving, happy people around me. I see me making a difference in peoples lives and in this world. My new career is flourishing. I get to help people who need help and I allow them to help me.

We are not alone in this life… we are truly all here to help EACH OTHER!

I am giving my fear and negative thoughts over to God. I am releasing and opening my heart and saying instead:

“Where would You have me go? What would You have me do? What would You have me say, and to whom?” — Daily prayer, A COURSE IN MIRACLES

When I live on the right side of my heart and soul then miracles happen.

It’s time to make some miracles happen. Want to join the ride? 🙂

With love,
